In 2014, the Web was celebrating its 40th anniversary. In 2015, hypertext turned 50.

Despite technological progress and adoption of new usages, the Internet as a commons is not an acquired right and accessibility, openness, interoperability and democracy issues remain present. It is, more than ever, time to strengthen links between the many networks that support the basic principles of a “Web for All” and “web on Everything” (W3C Mission).

The theme of the W3C International conference is OUVERT (OPEN in french), which stands “OUVERT” for: Open, Ubiquitous, Versatile, Education, GoveRnment, HealTh. Let’s use this event to be held in Montreal to intersect our networks.

The Open Knowledge Festival of Montreal is a one day event, hosted at the site of the conference. His program is simple: Inviting those who contribute to the development of an accessible, free and participative Web to present a project or a idea. Do you have a project or proposal which is in this perspective? Come and present it at the Open Knowledge Festival of Montréal, expand your knowledge networks and connect with new people and different practices.

Are you passionate about the issues of free software, the commons and digital citizenship? Join us to share your projects and ideas or simply to participate in discussions.

You will have 10 minutes to make your presentation. You could then answer questions from participants and go to the lounge, our meeting space, to continue the discussions.

Until march 31, submit your presentation and your time preference (morning or afternoon, see the program below) here.

We will contact you to finalize the program.

Program of the day:

09:00 – 12:00: Presentations and Lounge (meeting and discussion space).
12:00 – 1:30 PM: Lunch.
1:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Presentations and Lounge (meeting and discussion space).
4:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Wrap-up and highlights of the event by selected participants.

Thank you to actively contribute to Open Knowledge Festival of Montreal.
